#LanguagesPathways is a team of language lecturers dedicated to the development, support, and dissemination of the teaching and learning of foreign languages in Ireland, and more specifically in TU Dublin. What data do we collect?

#LanguagesPathways, depending on the particular circumstances, may collect and hold a range of different information about you. This can include:

  • Personal identification information (your name, date of birth (minors), address, email address, phone number, nationality (where relevant).

All personal data is relevant to the purpose for which it is collected and no excessive personal data will be collected.

How do we collect your data?

You directly provide #LanguagesPathways with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:

  • Contact us with a request, a complaint or a query.
  • Register online for a competition or to participate in an event.
  • Use or view our website via your browser's cookies.

How will we use your data?

#LanguagesPathways collects your data so that we can:

  • Provide you with the information that you request from us
  • Assist you with your enquiries
  • Contact you in relation to your participation in competitions

How do we share your data?

Any data which you provide is not made available to any third parties, and is used by #LanguagesPathways only in accordance with the purpose for which you provided the data and will only be retained for as long as required for the purpose. By submitting personal data, you give your consent to this transfer, storing or processing of your personal data by us. We will not share, sell or distribute your personal information to third parties for advertising or marketing products or services. Personal data is not transferred outside the EU, however you should note some data is stored in Microsoft OneDrive and Google Drive.

How do we store your data?

#LanguagesPathways takes its security responsibility seriously. We store your data on password protected TU Dublin Microsoft OneDrive and GoogleDrive.

#LanguagesPathways retain your personal data for so long as is necessary with regard to the purposes for which it was collected, or for so long as may be necessary in light of our legal obligations. Data may be retained for different periods of time depending on its purpose (e.g. event participation data will be deleted after the event; competition participation data depends on the time of the competition).

What are your data protection rights?

#LanguagesPathways would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. You have the right to:

  • Information The right to be informed about the data processing #LanguagesPathways does.
  • Access The right to receive a copy of and/or access the personal data that #LanguagesPathways holds about you.
  • Portability You have the right to request that #LanguagesPathways provides some elements of your personal data in a commonly used machine readable format in order to provide it to other organisations.
  • Erasure The right to erasure of personal data where there is no legitimate reason for #LanguagesPathways to continue to process it.
  • Rectification The right to request that any inaccurate or incomplete data that is held about you is corrected.
  • Object to processing You can object to the processing of your personal data by #LanguagesPathways in certain circumstances.
  • Restriction of processing You can request the restriction of processing of your personal data in specific situations
  • Withdraw Consent If you have provided consent for the processing of any of your data, you have the right (in certain circumstances) to withdraw that consent at any time which will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before your consent was withdrawn. This can be done by contacting #LanguagesPathways.
  • The right to complain to the Data Protection Commissioner You have the right to make a complaint in respect of our compliance with Data Protection Law to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner

What are cookies?

Similar to other websites #LanguagesPathways utilises a standard technology called “cookies”.
